Life is a hardening calcium hydroxide preparation that gives a shadow on the X-ray image, recommended for direct and indirect pulp capping and as a base for all fillings, including amalgam ones. Life is easy to prepare and guarantees a sufficiently long working time, allowing for multiple applications. In the cavity, it binds quickly, giving a hard, but modelable, foundation.
