SilTrax AS #7 "00" - Braided retraction thread with aluminum sulphate

Braided cotton cord impregnated with an aluminum sulphate solution and dried using a technique that preserves the action of the active ingredient.

Normal tissue moisture reactivates the active ingredient, which quickly retracts the gingival tissue in a non-destructive manner while fully exposing the gingival margins.

Each bottle contains 183 cm of braided cotton thread. The average concentration of aluminum sulphate for size 7/00 is: 0.12 mg/cm

Indications:

• Use in dental practice when gingival retraction is recommended before taking a dental impression with any elastic impression material.
• Before placement of temporary crowns, permanent crowns, bridges
• During tooth preparation

 Siltrax AS application quantity:

Use as much floss of the appropriate size as needed to wrap around the neck of each tooth to be deflected, slightly overlapping each other. Two loops can be packed around each tooth as long as pocket space allows. Adrenaline thread retraction should be limited to the equivalent of one normal quadrant of the mouth per visit.

How to use Siltrax AS:

• To use Siltrax AS as effectively as possible, wrap the smaller floss around the tooth and above the gingival sulcus.
• Trim the ends of the floss just enough to overlap and pack the loop firmly into the gum pocket.
• Pack the second loop of the larger thread over the smaller thread in the same way.
• When ready to apply the impression material, remove only the larger loop of suture, leaving the smaller loop in place under the gingival margin until treatment is complete.
• When the dental impression is complete, also remove the smaller floss.
• Siltrax AS deflects the tissue completely in five to eight minutes and should then be removed from the mouth.
• The thread parts used are intended for single use only and should be discarded immediately after the procedure.
